Mom, Welcome to Portland!

On Monday, August 10, my mom arrived Portland for one month visit. It's exciting for both of us after almost a year of being far apart physically (but of course not mentally). Yes, she made it finally and now we are enjoying being together. Nothing is as memorable and enjoyable as feeling your mom's warm hugs and kisses.

Hello, Meead! I am so, so happy your mother managed to make it to the US!

I have been here for nearly two months, and leave on Monday. I'm visiting my daughter, and my son and his girlfriend have come now, too. We're both having family reunions.

Thank you Bibi, Dina, and Ann.

Bibi, I'm so glad to hear you are in the US and visiting your "kids." I'm sure you are having very very good times. I wish you could come down to Portland sometime or told me earlier that I could come up to Seattle to meet you. BTW, I hope you've had a wonderful stay and have a safe trip back to Belgrade.

Dina, yes it's a very very good feeling to be with her. She says hi to you too. Yesterday I took her to the Holocaust memorial. I may post something tomorrow about our visit and the discussion we had there. It may be interesting to see more photos of the memorial than what I had posted a couple of months ago if you remember.

Meead, it's so good to see this photograph of you and your mother - beautiful roses in the background. How happy you must be. Do send her greetings from all of us and wishing you a very happy time together, as you are obviously having.

This is such a lovely portrait. It has been a short year for us viewing but it must have been a long year for you and your mom to have been parted. Enjoy both of you.
