Unheard of in Los Angeles. In L.A. they'd move the tree. In fact they have done so in the past. A fellow climbed a very old oak tree and stayed a month before he was hauled out of it. (it actually survived it's transplant)

The library looks so different now. So much better. I love that they left the tree. Yay Portland!
